Decisions ’26
“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.” Anthony Robbins
This week’s topic of conversation is “decision” and I really think that this quote sums up the decision-making process. For the decision to be implemented, action is needed.
I like many, often wish that change would happen, however at times I put off starting the process. I can provide an example of this. As a social worker, I need to commit to continuing professional development each year. I prefer to do “in person” on the day training as this ensures that I turn up and participate. If I am left to my devices and need to attend the online recorded variety, I tend to disengage and then play catch up. I often don’t book out the time, like I do for the in-person type. It is a fault of mine that I need to address.
Taking the time to commit and make action really helps cement the decision. Without the action, it is a wish or a dream. At other times, I do take the call to action and then progress can be made. It is about making the time and the commitment for me; I need both to achieve the change.
As a couple and business owners, my husband and I have decided to make the most of any long weekend and go away to spend time together. Just last weekend, we took advantage of the long weekend and took two extra days to explore Murray Bridge and region. We had a lovely day at the Safari Park and enjoyed watching the animals in their habitats and listening to the tour guides describing the work of the park. We also visited many of the local towns and viewed what they had to offer.
On our last day, we visited Mannum and found a lovely collective art studio and walked out with three artworks between us! On our return (after exploring the town), we were introduced to one of our chosen artists. It is always lovely to put a face to their work.
As we were travelling over to South Australia, we had the local radio station on and heard that they were holding a silent auction for the Flying Doctor Service. As this is one of my favourite charities, I also decided to place some bids. The auction finished this morning, and it looks like we need to travel back to the Riverland to collect some items.
Hoping your decisions are being actioned.
