About Us

Are you seeking help with life transitions?  This occurs for a variety of reasons; grief and loss, trauma or caring for a loved one and may cause stress and/or anxiety. Cultivate Counselling and Consulting may be the service that can assist you in moving forward and alleviating the symptoms.

Sue Watson recognised from an early age that life’s events impact on your health and wellbeing, whether the event happened to you or a loved one.  This can cause a variety of difficulties and may be stored in your body for a number of years and present in a number of ways; physically, emotionally, carer fatigue and/or burn out.

Sue has worked in other fields and when employed as a Financial Counsellor was directed to another area and began her journey to social work as a mature aged student.  Sue has obtained both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work and has worked in the health and mental health services for over ten years.   She has been endorsed as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker by the Australian Association of Social Workers.  This enables her clients with a Mental Health Care Plan written by their General Practitioner to claim a rebate through Medicare.

Sue commenced working in Private Practice in 2017 and began Cultivate Counselling and Consulting in 2020 with the aim of assisting the growth of her clients, with their mental health and/or wellbeing.  Sue utilises a range of psychological treatments and models, including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed, Solution Focused, Strengths Based, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing and Emotional Freedom Techniques.
