Curiosity
“… what you learn today, for no reason at all, will help you discover all the wonderful secrets of tomorrow.” Norton Juster
Being curious is a great motivator for learning. I am having a little break from mosaics due to a wedding in the family of my studio. I saw an advertisement last week at my favourite nursery, that they are hosting a drawing class tomorrow! Apart from secondary school, the last time I held a pencil was at a Zentangle class many years ago. I attempted to do a water colour on the ship on our last cruise and apparently, I was too specific in my attempt! I also did a little painting on a silk scarf at the L’Atelier De Soierie in Lyon, however I am uncertain if this made it to a scarf or they cut our attempts out!
So, tomorrow morning for two hours – I am going to see what skills I may or may not have! I have decided to go with an open mind and be present and listen to the instructions and see what happens! It is going to be a very small group and who knows what I may learn or discover about art and drawing?
An added bonus is that I can also shop after the lesson and pick up a gift or two for some special people in my life.
What are you doing to nurture yourself this week?
I will add in a short post after my lesson tomorrow.
